SITTING POSTURE TIPS

If you have a correct posture while sitting, it can help manage neck pain, upper back and low back pain. This is very important for people who have desk job and have to sit for a long period of time in front of a computer.

  1. Make sure your hips and knees are at 90 degree angle – to attain this position you can either raise your chair seat or lower it down according to your height.
  2. Your feet should be supported on the floor – if your legs are unable to reach the floor, you can either lower your chair down or put a small stool under your legs to keep them supported.
  3. Back should be in neutral position and should be supported – you can use a back cushion if your chair does not provide proper support.
  4. While working on the desk make sure that your arms don’t hang down or are way too high, this will cause you to lean forward which will cause problems in your back. Make sure your elbows are around 90 degrees bent while working.

  5. Place your monitor at your eye level, this will help you to maintain your neck in a neutral position.
